Transitioning to Microsoft Office 2007

The newest release of Microsoft Office 2007 offers an abundance of improvements: the Ribbon makes previously hard-to-find features easier to explore; desktop publishing tools produce more attractive documents; better integration throughout the applications; smaller application and file sizes; new file formats are easier to salvage if corrupted. The new file format requires users of Office 2000 through 2003 to install converters to open Office 2007 files. These improvements resulted in drastic interface changes and demand a higher learning curve – especially for upgraders.

To ease the transition, Softek offers a variety of “What’s New” as well as Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced level courses on Microsoft Office 2007. Our What’s New in Microsoft Office 2007 course highlights the most significant changes in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access. This course is generally
offered as a full-day hands-on class, but can easily be customized as hands-on or
presentation style to cover the components most important to your organization. For example, some clients have chosen half-day formats that cover selected chapters from the full-day course.

Once you decide on the courses that are most appropriate for your audience, you can select from three training venues:

  • Option #1
Your staff can attend regularly scheduled open enrollment (public) classes at our office. Most classes cost between $225 and $275 per person. To see when classes are offered and the price for each course, visit our training schedule. A 10% discount is offered when three or more students from the same organization attend the same course date. You can also receive volume discounts by pre-paying for training vouchers.
  • Option #2
Your staff can have a dedicated training class at your location. The cost to train up to 12 students per day at your location on most full-day Microsoft courses, including our What’s New course, is $850 for the day (approximately $70 per student). Volume discounts are also offered if you anticipate needing 5 or more days of training.
  • Option #3
Your staff can have a dedicated class at Softek's facility. The cost for
this will be the same as option #2 -- plus $150 for us to reserve and setup one of our classrooms.

Please feel free to contact Softek if you have any questions or would like to discuss your training options in more details. We will be glad to provide more specific pricing once you choose a training venue as well as the exact courses and levels.
