Softek provides full-service 508 remediation services to ensure that your documents will meet Section 508 standards and WCAG 2.0 guidelines and are accessible by people with disabilities. We make the following documents accessible:
PDF documents go through additional remediation treatment. Although a document may pass Adobe’s full accessibility check, it may still fail more stringent compliance testers. With PDF files, Softek will also review and remediate the following:
You can expect to pay anywhere from $5 to $30 per page depending on the file type, complexity, and length. Our team of highly-skilled professionals will assess your documents and prepare a fixed-priced quote. We will not start any work until we receive your full approval. Once work has been approved and completed, we will return your fully-compliant documents. All work is guaranteed.
Softek also offers training and consultation services on 508 remediation. Consider taking our 1-day course on Making Files 508 Complaint. This instructor-led, hands-on course teaches the essential skills necessary to make Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe PDF files compliant. In addition to training, Softek can work with your group to establish a remediation plan. Remediation should not be the last step in your process – it should be the first. Softek can help ensure your initial templates, documents, style guide, etc. are compliant from the beginning to avoid costly remediation later. For example, we will make sure your team is using heading styles, compliant colors, non-merged table cells and other issues that are harder to fix later in the process.
Hourly consulting is $165 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments. Services can be provided at your office, at Softek, by telephone, and/or by e-mail. There is a 6-hour minimum fee if services are rendered at your location. Volume discounts are offered for multiple-day projects. Please call our office if you would like to receive a quote or estimate for your specific initiative.
According to recent court rulings, inaccessible digital communications are barriers and in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Section 508 compliance can save you costly legal fees and public relation issues.
