Cell Navigation

One of the primary benefits of the Name Box is that it allows you to quickly navigate to specific cells or ranges within the worksheet. You can type in a cell reference (such as "F14") into the Name Box and press Enter to navigate directly to that cell.

You can also select and navigate to a specific range If you type A3:F14 in the Excel name box and press enter, all the cells enclosed in cell A3 through F14 will get selected. Even if you were initially somewhere else on the worksheet, you will be snapped back to the selected region to have it in front of you.

Named Ranges

The Name Box is also used to define and manage named ranges in Excel. Named ranges allow you to assign descriptive names to specific cells or ranges of cells, making it easier to reference them in formulas and functions. By clicking on the drop-down arrow next to the Name Box, users can select named ranges defined in the workbook.
